In 1976, I swapped England for Philly, a city that spoke a different language – the language of the streets. I had no clue about Cheesesteaks, Eagles, or American football; I was a soccer guy. But Philly was a wild mix of cultures, and it didn’t take long for me to learn the ropes.
That summer, I worked bagging groceries and discovered the Cheesesteak at Mimmo’s, a nearby pizza joint. It was love at first bite. While others grabbed pizza, I devoured juicy cheesesteaks almost daily. Since then, I have had cheesesteaks in hundreds of places and probably eaten more than anyone. My sons, Gavin & Aidan, share my obsession, and we’re always searching for new spots to try.
After working in family restaurants and bars, I knew I had to share my Cheesesteak passion with the world. So, my wife and I moved to Naples, Florida, and launched Cheesesteaks.com. We kicked off with a food truck, and quickly added our first brick-and-mortar location in Naples. We love bringing Philly’s flavor to Southwest Florida. We have plans to open several more locations over the coming years.
